At first, I thought that Coding might be a language far removed from everything I know. But today I was surprised how simple the principles of code were. In fact, Code shared many similarities with illustration. As an experienced illustrator I've had many younger artists approach me with the question, "how do I work in so-so medium." My answer is almost always the same. As long as an artist masters the fundamentals, and understands how to apply theory to make great images, then each medium is the same. It just becomes a game of process.
Likewise, The code I learned today is no different, because the greatest factor of producing a favorable outcome through this medium is the designers ability to set a vision, chart the steps based on the rules of the game, and execute.
All my life, even the names of different programming languages eluded me, as the mere mentioning of the name put engineers on a pedestal in my mind. Today that illusion has been completely demystified. HTML is the existence of objects on a page, CSS is the styling of those objects, and Javascript attributes behaviors connected to those objects.
